Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients is a turn-based RPG set in the Tang Dynasty.

Players take on the role of Shangguan Shuo, an amnesiac member of the Tianji Guard. In search of the truth behind his past, he begins investigating a suspicious organization known as the Xuanxin Order. Yet as the investigation draws him deeper, Shangguan Shuo gradually discovers that the ties between himself and the Xuanxin Order may be far more intricate than he ever imagined...

Story

From ages of silence, an ancient force awakens.
And the wheel of fate turns once more.

During the Tianbao era of the Tang Dynasty, a storm brews over Bashu.

The Tianji Guard stumbles upon an ancient ruin, where General Cui Yuan dons a bronze mask radiating strange Qi, loses his mind, and slaughters his comrades before vanishing without a trace. Suspended by the Imperial Court, the survivors work covertly to clear their names.

Months later, the masked Xuanxin Order rises in Bashu, winning people over with strange Qi techniques. Awakening in their lair, Shangguan Shuo is rescued by Tianji Guard member Li Ling. With no memory, his only clues are a fish token bearing his name and a strange mask. Guided by these relics, he sets out to recover his memories—uncovering the Order’s hidden scheme and awakening a millennium-old subterranean city.
